Bars charts are almost always an excellent substitute for pie charts (image at bottom of post).

  1. With one glance, it is super-simple to compare values within and across all elements.
  2. Eliminates a ton of wasted visual energy to look back and forth across the pie charts.
  3. We need three colors instead of 17! and could use one since the sections are obvious.
